Marvel Rivals

Week 0 focuses on tryouts tailored to your team’s needs, including availability checks, open sessions, and scrimmages to evaluate skills and fit. Coaches assess gameplay ability, rank, schedules, personality, and roles—while using icebreakers to build team chemistry.

Week 1 introduces the fundamentals of practice, outlining player roles and key in-game communication expectations while setting a respectful and fun team culture. Players learn to set individual and team goals and develop the independence to organize practice lobbies without constant coach supervision.

Week 2 dives into the complexities of Marvel Rivals’ ban system, teaching teams how to identify which heroes disrupt their playstyle and how bans impact team synergies. Players learn that there are no perfect bans, emphasizing adaptability and helping the team develop its unique identity through strategic ban decisions.

Week 3 focuses on experimenting with team compositions by understanding each player’s role and roster strengths, balancing flexibility with synergy. Coaches should encourage gradual adjustments between scrims to identify what works and what doesn’t, using these insights to refine team strategy and counterplay.

Week 4 introduces players to the three core team compositions—Dive, Poke, and Brawl—explaining their unique strengths, weaknesses, and matchups. Through comp-building exercises, players learn how to create effective lineups while preparing for the nuanced playstyle overlaps explored in Week 5.

Week 5 teaches players how to master Dive, Poke, and Brawl as dynamic playstyles, emphasizing the importance of hybrid strategies and adapting to different in-game situations. Using map-based “killboxes,” players learn where each playstyle excels and how to leverage positioning for maximum impact.

Week 6 focuses on evaluating and adapting your team’s compositions in response to balance patches and the evolving meta. This week encourages flexibility by reviewing strategies and expanding character pools to keep your team competitive and prepared for future updates.

Week 7 centers on mastering ultimates by understanding their defensive and utility roles, emphasizing the importance of ult economy and coordinated ult tracking. Players will develop the crucial habit of communicating enemy ult usage to control fights strategically, marking a key step toward high-level team play.

Week 8 focuses on teaching teams how to identify their win conditions—the key factors that most likely lead to victory in a fight or matchup. By understanding these, along with the strengths and timing of ultimates, players develop adaptability and the ability to win even challenging games.

Week 9 teaches players to understand their individual roles and responsibilities within the team composition, emphasizing how their actions impact overall team dynamics. This helps build trust, encourages smart decision-making, and guides when to take calculated risks to turn fights in their favor.

Week 10 focuses on building an effective communication structure tailored to player strengths and roles, essential for coordinating ult tracking, fight planning, and real-time updates during matches. Players learn to delegate responsibilities like ult tracking, strategizing fight plans, and calling out team advantages, enabling smarter, more synchronized gameplay.

Week 11 teaches teams how to gain an early advantage by mapping out strategic starting positions for each map, focusing especially on key moments like the first fight in game modes such as Domination. Using replay tools and visual aids, players learn to plan effective setups that optimize positioning and control, setting the foundation for successful map control throughout the match.

Week 12 focuses on developing long-term map analysis skills by having players identify the strengths and weaknesses of different map areas, linking these to the three core playstyles: dive, poke, and brawl. This exercise builds game sense, trust, and precision while creating a valuable resource for adapting to new maps and evolving team strategies.
